The EU Regulation on Access to Genetic Resources and the Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization puts in place compliance measures for users to implement the Nagoya Protocol in the European Union. By 2027, the Commission will evaluate whether the Regulation is properly achieving the objectives of the Nagoya Protocol, assessing its efficiency, effectiveness, coherence, relevance and EU added value. The evaluation will cover the period since the entry into application of the Regulation in 2014.
