Climate change in the Arctic is a major concern, disproportionately affecting its inhabitants. Geopolitical and geoeconomic shifts have altered the regional dynamic, driving increased military presence and hybrid activity. Growing interest in sustainable materials, energy and new trade routes, affects the region's and the EU's economic security, social balance, cohesion and safety. While Arctic States hold primary responsibility for domestic developments, multilateral cooperation is vital to address these new challenges.
