Climate change remains the defining challenge of the coming decades. Europe is warming twice as fast as the rest of the world, and the impacts are already felt. European societies, economies, lives, and livelihoods are increasingly vulnerable and exposed to climate risks. While the risks are accelerating, current policies fail to keep pace. The initiative will set out an integrated framework to support Member States in ensuring that the action taken measures up to the scale of the challenges ahead.
